I have known Francis since he enrolled in our full time MBA program in 2014. He is a high energy person who gets things done. He took an entrepreneurship class from me in which he explored a system to enable men to order custom fitted shirts online. It was an interesting project that taught him a lot about life in a startup venture.
In addition, he did an independent study course to further his understanding of entrepreneurship. These independent study courses allow a student to study a topic outside the scope of what we offer in formal classes, so they are great for the highly motivated students in our program.
As further evidence of his initiative, Francis contacted me several months ago to see if we had any students who could help him with the fitness product he is now developing. So two of my students are now doing independent study projects focused on helping Francis build his current company. His use of the students helps him, but more importantly, it enables the students to experience the kinds of issues an entrepreneur faces in a startup company.
Francis is the kind of person who will persist at creating new ventures until one becomes a big success. He does not give up easily.
